About Frank

Frank is a full-time Classical Tenor who sings weekly at wedding ceremonies and Charity events throughout the country. He lives in his native Galway with his wife Elaine and their
11yr old twin boys Oisin and Conor.

Born in 1972, Frank has been singing since he could talk! His talents were noticed early, and his very first lead role was as The Pirate King in the "Pirates of Penzance" in St. Joseph's "The Bish" Secondary School in Galway.
He enjoyed perfoming so much he joined the Galway Musical Society and over the next few years performed many lead roles, the most notable of which was as the lead role John Tallentire in "The Hired Man" in 1997 for which he was nominated "Best Male Voice" by the Association of Irish Musical Societies (AIMS).

In November 1999 Frank was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer called Multiple Myeloma. At 27yrs old Frank was the youngest person diagnosed in Europe. Following 9 months of Chemotherapy and then a transplant of his own Stem Cells, the disease was brought under control. Because of the damage caused to his bones as a result of the illness, he had to re-evaluate his life, as he would no longer be able to work as the electrician he was qualified to be, and over the next year during his rehabilitation realised that his deepest ambition was to be a successful Tenor.

He immediately began planning and recording his debut album, which was released in October 2003 to great acclaim. Entitled 'The Power Within', this was an acknowledgement of the positive attitude that had helped him through his illness, as well as an indication of the powerful voice he owns!
He released his second solo album, "Ovation", in October 2006.

In August of 2008 Frank's treatment for his illness had to be re-evaluated and he started a regime on a new wonder drug, "I'm happy to say that this phase of the disease has been brought under control once again thanks to the brilliant work by the Doctors and Nurses of University Hospital Galway and St' Jame's in Dublin and I hope to enjoy the same remission from this treatment as I did from the initial bout".

Frank launched his third album "Come What May" in Nov '08 with a run of 3 concerts in Galway's Town Hall Theatre, the new CD reached as high as No.5 on HMV's Lyric FM RTE Classical Chart. The profits from the opening night were donated to Cancer Care West, a charity very close to Frank's heart.

In April of 2010 Frank performed as a guest of Sean Costello's in his tribute to the great Irish Tenor, Josef Locke. The concerts took place in The University Concert Hall Limerick, The Cork Opera House & The National Concert Hall, Dublin.
He has also since had the honour of starring in the Josef Locke tribute in the Millenium Forum in Locke's hometown of Derry.

His motto is to live your life regardless of the the challenges it throws in your face from time to time. As of October 2012 Frank's health continues to improve, " I can't believe the new lease of life this drug Revlamid has given me, I am very gratefull to everyone for their support over the past number of years, long may it continue"
